Online Schools Report is looking for a freelance journalist for a longform report on the State of Online Education going into 2019.
The report will be data driven, but include interviews and analysis. We have a team of researchers who can help with scraping/analyzing data. We have a skeleton of an article, but we want an experienced higher education reporter to flesh it out.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal is seeking an experienced reporter with a nose for news to cover higher education in Southern Nevada. This is a busy beat that should regularly produce front-page stories and drive significant online traffic. We are looking for a strong writer who can write with context, clarity and conciseness.
The ideal candidate is able to work well under deadline pressure, develop sources and take complicated issues and make the reader understand them. He or she is a storyteller with initiative, ideas and energy. Narrative writing skills are a plus.
Chalkbeat, the growing nonprofit news organization telling the story of education in America, is seeking motivated undergraduate or graduate students to serve as summer reporting interns. Our reporting teams cover schools in seven places — Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Indianapolis, Memphis, Newark, and New York City — and we have a national bureau covering education issues affecting schools across the country.
The Education Writers Association (EWA), the national professional organization supporting education journalists, is seeking an enthusiastic and mission-driven intern who will thrive in a challenging and dynamic work environment. Our paid interns play a key role in conveying the value of EWA to our members and other stakeholders.
Our interns should share EWA’s commitment to the value of independent professional journalism and embrace EWA’s mission to strengthen the community of education writers and improve the quality of education coverage to better inform the public.
